- I'm so busy and tired, how can I find time for sex?
- How can I go from mommy one minute to passionate lover the next?
- What medicines or natural herbs can I take to improve my libido?
At some point in their lives, most women experience a decline in their sexual desire. Yet despite the vast number of books devoted to sex, surprisingly few focus on the problem of low libido. Fewer still offer any practical advice to the woman who has lost her sex drive and longs to find it again.
Finally available in paperback, Reclaiming Desire presents the holistic approach that gynecologist Andrew Goldstein and clinical psychologist Marianne Brandon—co-founders of the Sexual Wellness Center in Annapolis, Maryland—use to successfully treat women with low libido. Capitalizing on their combined medical and psychological expertise, they reveal how a complex set of physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual factors—as well as specific life-changing events such as marriage, pregnancy, childbirth, divorce, and menopause—can affect female sex drive. Reading this book, women will come to understand that low libido isn't “all in their heads”—or all in their bodies, for that matter. The problem is real and it’s diverse—but it’s curable.

Review :
The best self-help book ever
I bought this book based on the Amazon reviews and I'm glad I did. This book is for everyone; I am most certainly not the average victim of low libido - I'm 24 years old, no children, and in a committed loving relationship. It cleared up so many things for me; so much so that my therapist is buying it to recommend to his other patients. I have since recommended it to all of my girlfriends, even the ones who feel they have no libido problems. Besides getting me to feel more open discussing some of the problems that were weighing heavily on me, I learned some simple relaxation tips to keep me 'in the moment' and focused on the experience, not the grocery list that I used to make in my mind. I could go on and on, but just trust me. It's worth buying.

A Must Read!
Reclaiming Desire is a must read for any woman who finds that her sex drive is not what it should be or what she wants it to be, and is willing to take steps to fix it. According to the authors there is no "quick fix" for low libido. Instead, the authors lay out a comprehensive plan for improving sex drive that makes sense and actially works! Their plan starts out with a self test that helps you identify why your sex drive is decreased. Then they explain how to fix it. For example, some women may find that they need to take hormones like testosterone or dopamine, while other women may need help with emotional or relationship problems. They also give a lot of useful information about some popular aphrodisiacs like ginko and ginseng, and talk about sexual desire at different stages of life (after giving birth, menopause, etc). There are lots of useful bullet points that summarize each chapter. One of the best parts of this book are the stories from actual patients that were...
The Best Book Written on Women's Desire Problems
Reclaiming Desire is a gift to women who have lost their libido. Doctors Goldstein and Brandon have created a beautifully-written, comprehensive, empowering and compassionate book, and one I recommend wholeheartedly to my patients. It deals with women's low sexual desire in unusual depth, and in a remarkably balanced way---encompassing the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual aspects of womens' sexuality. If you still love your partner and your relationship and you still want to bond, but your sex drive has vanished, this is the best book you could ever read.

Reclaiming Desire is the thinking woman's antidote to helplessness. It gives you the guidemap to pinpoint what is wrong, the courage to take responsibility for your part, the voice of a wise, ingenious, loving guide to cheer you on, and all the strategies you will need to change your libido. The chapter on the "Miracle of Motherhood" is a masterpiece. It should be required reading for all...

If you understand what it's like to be caught up in the trap of binge eating, emotional eating, mindless eating, or the constant loop of dieting and binge eating, then this book is for you. Compulsive eating, then dieting, then cheating on your diet, then bingeing, then starting a new diet again is like being trapped in an undertow.  You might feel like you are constantly swimming against the current, only to find yourself exhausted and drowning. Leora Fulvio, a psychotherapist specializing in the treatment of eating disorders has designed this book to be like your own pocket therapist.  Each chapter is both an assignment and an exploration that will help you get closer and closer to feeling like yourself again or feeling normal around food for the first time. Review :
Make Peace with Food
"Obsessing about food and my body kept me from living my life." ~ pg. 7

In "Reclaiming Yourself from Binge Eating," Leora Fulvio comes across as a very loving, thoughtful author. She truly wants to help anyone who struggles with binge eating due to a variety of causes.

This book will help you realize why you would binge eat in the first place. Many times it has to do with childhood issues. In fact I know two people who are binge eaters and both of them had food taken away or restricted when they were children. Some of the other issues explained in the book reveal that some people also try to get rid of negative feelings by eating a lot. So whatever your issue is it is probably discussed in this book.

Some of the very helpful advice in this book includes the section on clearing foods that are trigger foods from your house. There is also a list of 101 things to do instead of binging. There is also information on how to stop unhealthy thought patterns...
And Leora Fulvio explains that healing from a binge eating disorder is like breaking up with a boyfriend with whom you've had ..
"Breaking Up is Hard to Do," declares that old rock 'n' roll song. And Leora Fulvio explains that healing from a binge eating disorder is like breaking up with a boyfriend with whom you've had a dysfunctional relationship. She describes binge eating as if you were enmeshed with "Ed" (your eating disorder) who pretends to care about you but, as in all abusive relationships, is out to see you suffer. Recovery from binge eating is about separating from the tyranny of Ed and learning to live in peace and harmony with your food, your body, yourself.

In Reclaiming Yourself from Binge Eating: A Step-By-Step Guide to Healing, Ms. Fulvio, a marriage and family therapist, helps you negotiate your break up with binge eating and invites you to reflect on 34 steps that impart knowledge, hope, and guidance for recovery.

These 34 chapters include an exploration plus an assignment and cover topics such as: Balancing Self-Acceptance with the Need to Change;...
This is not a book about binge-eating
This is a book about finding out why you binge-eat, and how you can break the cycle and get control of your life.

Leora Fulvio writes from a very personal place describing her own struggles with food and emphasizes the fact that you are not alone in your struggle - millions of people also have the same issues. The good news is that many of them have also freed themselves from the cycle and so can you.

If you are looking for a "5 ways to stop binge-eating NOW" type book, this isn't it. This books requires some emotional work on the part of the reader, but the author has thought very carefully about the setbacks and pitfalls along the way, and has given a lot of advice about what to do in challenging social situations and what to do when you just want to give up.

The advice in the book is oriented specifically towards binge-eating, but her advice is so universal I think it can be applied to a lot of compulsive, unhealthy behaviors. The parts I...
